Course Description:
This is an intensive certifying course designed to give practicing general surgeons, a virtual run through of the essentials, technique and a video demonstration of the transabdominal pre peritoneal repair for inguinal hernia performed by the country’s expert will be the highlight of this course.
Objectives:
1. To summarize the present guidelines and recommendations in management of inguinal hernias.
2. To discuss the importance of different instruments and mesh, required in performing laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair.
3. To present standard techniques in two commonly performed laparoscopic procedures for hernia repair, TAPP and TEP with emphasis on the anatomy of the inguinal canal with focus on the differences of the anterior and posterior perspective.
4. To provide a video demonstration of laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair
